RacunHunter

This tool is provided for the purposes of recovering an Evo 4G LTE that is stuck in Qualcomm Download Mode (QHSUSB_DLOAD) after a failed attempt to S-OFF using DirtyRacun.

Our tools will not fix any other type of unresponsive device.

Supported Devices:

RacunHunter currently supports the following Android phones:

    HTC Evo 4G LTE (Jewel) - HBOOT 1.15 | 1.19 | 2.09

If you have HTC Evo 4G LTE (Jewel) HBOOT 1.12 stuck in QHSUSB_DLOAD after running LazyPanda please see instructions for PandaFinder.

Prerequisites:

  1. Supported Operating System:
Ubuntu 12.04 (or higher) 32bit running natively
Ubuntu 12.04 (or higher) 32bit running via LiveCD
    LiveUSB will NOT work!

  2. The device and the original HTC USB cable

Instructions:

  1. Connect the device to a USB 2.0 port. USB 3.0 and USB hubs will not work

  2. Remove the sdcard from the phone

  3. Download and extract to your DirtyRacun folder: RacunHunter
    MD5 - 93904fdd09e0bef12d71e97092b9f77b

  4. Open a terminal

  5. Navigate to the directory where you extracted the files in Step 3

  6. Run the following command in the terminal:

    • chmod 755 brickdetect.sh RacunHunter
  7. Press and hold the power button on the phone for 30 seconds

  8. In the terminal type:

    • sudo ./brickdetect.sh
  9. You will get output similar to the following:

    • The download mode device is on:
      /dev/sd*
  10. In the terminal type the command:

    • sudo ./RacunHunter -d /dev/sd*
    • * is the value obtained from the output of brickdetect.sh (for example: in the above picture it would be /dev/sda)
  11. Follow the on-screen directions from the program

If you would like to recover the data on your sdcard run RabiesShot again. It will say S-OFF failed, but will restore the data unless you have reformatted it.

If you would like attempt to gain S-OFF after recovering, verify that you have met all the prereqs and read all the instructions for DirtyRacun. Failing to do so is what causes your device to go into QHSUSB_DLOAD.
